The HKIMR accepts applications for positions as Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher on an ongoing and highly competitive basis. The lengths of the visits typically range from three months to one year. Applicants are invited to submit proposals consistent with the Institute's overall objective of promoting research that is of strategic importance to Hong Kong and the regional economies.
Applicants should hold a PhD in economics, finance, or a related field with specialization in macroeconomics or financial economics. In their research they should have demonstrated an interest in and knowledge of issues of importance for the Asian region. To be eligible for this program the candidate should have obtained the PhD not more than three years from the proposed date of the visit.
The HKIMR offers an attractive remuneration package, including travel and accommodation allowances. If you are interested and meet the specific requirements, please email a proposal of 3-5 pages together with your curriculum vita and a letter of recommendation from a person familiar with your research to The Director, Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research (hkimr@hkma.gov.hk). The Council of Advisors reviews proposals on a quarterly basis. Since the Council frequently requests clarifications of the proposed projects, applicants need to apply well in advance of their desired dates of visit.
